Streamlined disk analyzer that helps you measure your files and folders in order to quickly identify the ones that take up too much space
WhatSize is a simple yet efficient Mac software solution for analyzing your disk content in order to find duplicate files, to identify the large items that take up the most space, or the log, cache, or language files that can be safely removed in order to gain more storage.
The app measures your disk and then enables you to visualize the data in different viewing modes: browser, outline, table, or pie chart. WhatSize is also using a color code to highlight the largest files and folders.
Well structured disk analyzer that can measure the included files and folders
WhatSize automatically detects the available volumes and favorite folders and measures their content in order to highlight the ones that put a serious strain on your storage space. Of course, WhatSize also allows you to manually add new folders to the list.
In addition, WhatSize includes a duplicates finder, a delocalizer (finds all the language files and allos you to delete the ons you do not need), and a cleaner tool (detects log, download, cache, Nib, localized, and temporary files).
For your convenience, WhatSize offers you the option to delete files and folders as an Administrator, by using the sudo command. However, if you enable this function you must be very careful not to remove items that are critical for the operating system.
Unsophisticated yet very efficient disk measurement and cleaning solution
WhatSize is a good tool to have on your Mac if you are running out of storage space and you do not know why. The app measures the disk content, underlines the largest ones, enables you to detect duplicates or unnecessary files, and provides simple tools for removing them in no time.
To make sure that certain files and folders remain untouched, you have the option to create and exclusion list. Lastly, WhatSize enables you to export the current selection to a CSV file.
