Offers you the possibility to create high quality images depicting high contrast scenes by applying High Dynamic Range (HDR) techniques
Standard photographic techniques can produce underexposed or overexposed results in which you cannot distinguish specific details.
The High Dynamic Range (HDR) technique offers you the possibility to extend the luminosity range of digital images by combining differently exposed photos.
Photomatix Pro is a Mac OS X application that offers you the possibility to handle the photos via an organized and user friendly interface.
In addition, Photomatix Pro comes with a Lightroom plug-in that can be used to quickly import photos from your Lightroom library and the export them back when the rendering is complete.
Organized user interface
The Photomatix Pro main window offers you the possibility to load photos, merge them together and then send them to the editor window.
Noteworthy is that Photomatix Pro allows you to preview the image results and gives you the possibility to add further effects, redo the process with different settings, save the current settings and more.
However, Photomatix Pro is using a separate window for editing in each case, which can lead to confusion. On the other hand, this gives you the opportunity to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Tone Mapping and Exposure Fussion
Photomatix Pro provides support for applying different tone mapping (details enhancer, contrast optimizer, or tone compressor) or exposure fusion methods (natural, real-estate, intensive, average, auto, or 2 images)to process the HDR image.
Of course, you can adjust various details associated with each method, such as the strength, color saturation, light, color temperature and more.
Large collection of effects presets
Last but not least, Photomatix Pro offers you the possibility to apply various presets to your HDR project. The collection can be browsed via a panel placed on the right side of the image editor and the presets are organized into multiple categories: artistic, realistic, black&white, details enhancer, contrast optimizer, tone compressor, and fusion.
Powerful image editor for HDR projects
Photomatix Pro is a fairly intuitive application that offers you the possibility to merge photos that have different exposure levels in order to create HDR images. In addition, the app allows you to apply various presets and give an artistic look to your projects.
What's new in Photomatix Pro 6.0
May 21st, 2017
・More style choice for realistic results - A new HDR rendering method called Tone Balancer gives you more options for achieving a realistic look. It is well-suited to real estate and natural style landscapes.
・Refine your image with more control over color - With the new interactive brush tool, you can make color changes to just parts of the image by painting over those areas. You can also remove color casts, enhance skies, and adjust other image features by fine-tuning the saturation, hue, and brightness of individual colors.
・Avoid overdoing it - If you want a more realistic look, you can blend your original photo with the HDR rendered image. You can also use a brush to blend specific areas with the original photo, or one of the other photos from a bracketed set.
・Remove distortion from your photos - If the horizon isn't straight or vertical objects like buildings aren't vertical, you can quickly straighten your photo and fix perspective issues where lines don't look parallel when they should. These are particularly helpful features for architectural and landscape photographers.
・A more intuitive workflow - Whether you are working with a single image, or a bracketed set of photos, a more intuitive workflow makes it easier to load and choose images and proceed through to editing.
