A reliable and user-friendly OS X tool designed to inspect compiled code, libraries or archives form a standalone GUI and via a Quick Look plugin

Library Inspector is a simple development tool for the macOS platform that enables you to graphically inspect compiled code, such as dynamic libraries, static archives, object code, apps and frameworks.

In fact, this utility is comprised of two separate parts: the Library Inspector application with a standalone user interface and a QuickLook plugin which you can use to inspect files just by hitting the spacebar.

GUI-based tool for developers to disassemble and inspect source code

Although inspecting compiled objects can be achieved using various command line tools, the advantage of using Library Inspector is obviously its graphical user interface.

As an added advantage, the Library Inspector app is also designed to neatly display the symbols in each code piece with information such as type, symbol name, architecture and pertaining library.

Easy to use Objective-C header extractor

Furthermore, Library Inspector includes a toolbar at the top with buttons to disassemble the selected element and another to extract the headers.

Thus, it provides you with the ability to disassemble compiled code to symbolic assembly language and to easily dump Objective-C libraries to header files with extreme ease and speed.

Moreover, Library Inspector also includes a search bar to quickly find symbols by name and type and displays their total number on the bar at the bottom.

Powerful yet simple source code viewer with syntax highlighting and one click code disassembling

Another important bonus provided by Library Inspector is that it comes with inbuilt syntax highlighting which allows it to display each type of symbol using different colors.

Taking all said into consideration, the Library Inspector OS X app has the potential to improve your workflow as a developer by allowing you to quickly inspect architecture information of complied objects, disassemble code and to rapidly view symbol tables and more.
